It's true, i really do.
For extra credit, Mrs. Snyder made us act out all the parts. Sal Scafarillo was Romeo. As fate would have it, I was Juliet… Most of the girls were green with envy. I wasn't. I told Ms. Snyder that Juliet was an idiot. For one thing, she falls for the one guy she knows she can't have… Everyone thinks it's so romantic: Romeo and Juliet, true love...how sad. If Juliet was stupid enough to fall for the enemy, drink a bottle of poison, and go to sleep in a mausoleum, then she deserved everything she got.
Maybe Romeo and Juliet were fated to be together, but just for a while, and then their time passed. If they could have known that beforehand, maybe it all would have been okay. I told Mrs. Snyder that when I was grown up, I'd take fate into my own hands. I wouldn't let some guy drag me down. Mrs. Snyder said that I'd be lucky if I ever had that kind of passion with someone, and that if I did, we'd be together forever. Even now, I believe that for the most part, love is about choices. It's about putting down the poison and the dagger and making your own happy ending...most of the time. And that sometimes, despite all your best choises and all your best intentions... fate wins anyway.

It's true, if i knew what was going to happen maybe i wouldn't have said anything , said something or tried harder and everything would be okay. Well everything is okay, but i wish everything was great. I mean, its impossible to spend your whole life trying to avoid things because some person/thing decided to break your heart or blind you with false pretences. We never know whats going to happen yet alone what effects it'll have. Fate is extraordinary, and whether we choose to believe that something is capable of controlling the events about to happen or the effects of the events that have already happened is up to our self belief. Though sometimes its just best to do what you know you can or must do in a situation rather then wait for something to happen, that way though you know you at least tried even if deep inside you know that you wont win - you can still hope for the best because sometimes, just sometimes.. things turn out great.
So this begs me to ask the question, how long do i have to leave it til something happens? Okay not just something, something great, extraordinary, awesome, perfect... am i asking for too much?
