after spending nearly forever adpating to the independent lifestyle, i feel like i can't change who i am now. the control, the freedom and although it maybe lonely at the top. i knew that i'd be okay. i've spent so long wanting something more from people that didn't care, well not as much as i did and i've spent so long neglecting so much people that have walked into my life. i loved not being emotionally attached to people and even though, i had moments where i longed for some sort of romance in my life - i sufficed knowing that at the end of the day all we have are ourselves. i didn't need anybody.

today's a different story. whilst i still abide by some of the rules that i use to live by, i feel like i've changed. weary of the way relationships work, i am still trying my best to adapt. i've always been the girl that everyone dicussed their relationships with and now i'm in the shoes of my many friends that have been in lust and love. so much so emotions, uncontrollable emotions. i hate it. i have always been content with being able to control my actionsand having only myself to deal with. being in a relationship means having to deal with the unknown, having to deal with and care about other peoples emotions and i don't know if i can do that. i'm a little scared. but i adore him and i wouldn't want my fears to coincide with how amazing we could be together.

Being beautiful on the outside is just as important as being beautiful on the inside. I think the way we portray ourselves on a daily basis often reflects who we are and how were feeling. I was watching The Soloist starring Robert Downey Jnr & Jamie Foxx just then and it is definitely one of the best movies i've watched in a while. Which brings me to post this article i found from The Australian.

The Grammy award-winning violinist -- who has been described as a "classical music superstar" and who is a regular fixture with the world's top orchestras -- was standing incognito in jeans, T-shirt and baseball cap on a nondescript concourse at a metro stop in Washington DC.

During his 43-minute set, which opened with Bach's D-minor Chaconne, 1070 people walked past and didn't pay him the slightest attention. Seven stopped to listen and threw money into the open violin case in front of him. His total earnings: just more than $32.

It seems just as painful, more than three years after the event, for the Indiana-born, New York-based Bell to talk about it. He did it as a favour to The Washington Post writer Gene Weingarten, who won a Pulitzer prize for the piece he wrote about the experiment.

"It wasn't something I'd ever do again, it wasn't enjoyable, it wasn't the way music should be heard," says Bell, who will be performing in Brisbane next month, in much more conventional circumstances, with the Academy of St Martin in the Fields.

Different people took different things from the busking experiment. "It certainly made me appreciate a captive audience," Bell says. It made him think, too, about music being an accompaniment to so much of life today "that you get used to it, you don't even think about it . . . It's amazing how our perception of people can change based on the physical attributes and the aspects of the environment they're placed in. Appreciation of the smaller things in life is what should be noted because let's face it before we can face all the monsters and the demons, we have to be able to face ourselves. Unfortunately, as a society have disregarded an immensely large variety of traits and treated them nothing more then flaws. Our freedom, our knowledge of perfection and ability to judge has made recognising the value of the simpler things in life irrelevant in our daily routine. But i guess that is what makes people that do appreciate so great. They do it knowing they don't really have to.

winter is a drainer. i had coughing fit waiting for the bus this arvo (not cool).

you know what else is a drainer, not being able to see "the hot guy" for a while because of uni breaks and because i'm too chicken to ask him for coffee or add him on facebook (complicated story). ahhh stupid crush ♥

also wendy's leaving soon. i'm going to have to spend 3/4 weeks without her. it's going to be hella quiet. (also not cool).

After sneezing all night last night and accumulating a cold today, i've concluded that i probably have the flu. I tried to go to class this morning only to find myself back at home because i was way to cold, instead i put on 10 jumpers and left for the chemist to get myself some cold and flu tablets. i have mass love for this lavender/lilac shade. i saw a silk dress similar to this from glassons and boy did i have trouble stopping myself from reaching for it. i normally don't like chain stores that sell flimsy cheap clothing for more then it's worth but i saw a few dresses, well two dresses there, that i wouldn't mind getting my hands on.

i went into LILI the other day, another shop that i don't particularly pay much attention to but after going on the website to look for the tights i brought so i could post a picture of it, i've changed my mind. i found these two oufits below and immediately fell in lust after it. especially number 1! i'm totally digging tutu's at the moment and i'm still on my quest to make my own or i might just buy one or this dress. haha!!

I've never been much of a big fan of Shu Uemura's cosmetic range, i mean apart from the false eyelashes and eyelash curler but i think these two colours might have converted me.

On a more upsetting note; I lost my "pink in the afternoon" Revlon lipstick the other week. Those that know me well know that i love lipstick and that i own a million shades that look alike but i buy them anyway because i'm impulsive and love pink lipstick. I loved(like LOVED) "pink in the afternoon" and this is the second time i've lost it except this time i'm pretty sure i didn't leave it in anyone's car after a messy night. BOO HOO!!

I absolutely adore ebay. I'm pretty sure a lot of you know what i'm talking about!! Sure, it's not good for my shopping addiction. Sure, i'm always telling myself i should probably stop shopping there but i can't help it. It's so god damn convenient!

So i brought a few things here and there these past weeks and i told myself (yet again) that this would be the last of my many purchases from ebay, for now anyway. But i was wrong, i subscribed to "the big deal" newsletter the other week and being one of the top 500? or 100? i think it was, i got a free $5 voucher (yay!) and considering it expires soon, that means i really should probably go for a little browse. haha! (excuses!!!)

Which has lead me to this post, i need new mascara. One capable of extending, voluminous and not clumping. I've had a fair few trials and errors with a whole lot of different mascaras and in the end, Covergirl's Mascara range has always been my saving grace. I'm leaning towards Maybelline's Pulse Perfection but after reading reviews i'm really not sure.

what i've learned this past weekend:
1. as much as i thought i wouldn't have missed my long protruding dead hair, i do. i should've listened to my hairdresser.
2. too much alcohol is not good for the soul.
3. eating a teaspoon of raw chilli because everyone did it isn't the best idea.
4. coconut ice-cream is the best.
5. it's amazing what a club with good music can do.
6. texting when drunk is most definitely a laugh the morning after but i still probably shouldn't have done it.
7. i'm really not as mature as i thought i was. haha
8. papers, scissors, rock is still a really awesome game
9. you can't blame everything on the a-ah-ah-a-a alcoholl. actually you can. :)

The mouth. It has various abilities such as eating, breathing, smiling, kissing and etc but let's face it when we're not doing all those things we're most likely talking. Now don't get me wrong, i'm totally for free speech but sometimes some people just abuse the power of speech and just take it too far. I remember a period of time in my life where i use care about what people thought about me but growing up you start to realise the only perception of yourself, you should care about is yours. Now most of the times, i'm prone to the occasional chit chat about the actions i've partaken in or in fact haven't partaken in and all other factors about my life but there's definitely a threshold for how much you can bear. I'm not perfect, i can admit that. I'm also (in my eyes) not a good person in the sense that sometimes i'm insincere, selfish and move on way to fast. So boo hoo, if you've met that side of me and decided that you don't like it. Most people open they're mouths and talk like they don't give much of a fuck about me, in that case, why open your mouth at all? If you don't like me, don't bother because i definitely don't go around wasting my time on people i can't be bothered with (although i may be contradicting myself by writing this post. regardless, i'm still posting this up).

So to those relentless souls that scatter around vomiting out filth from their mouths, i bid you adieu and do hope you invest in a strong mouthwash because with all that shit you talk, you'll need it.

It's not about whether or not i'd find someone else yet alone whether or not i'd be happy in the end because the truth is, i will. I'm upset and angry because everyone else still gets you in their lives and i don't.

So to make myself feel better i painted my nails :) Not really(if only it was that easy). I just realised i haven't tried out my L.A Girl's Rockstar Nail Lacquer yet and considering i don't have work at all this week(hospitality = no painted nails), i thought i'd give it a go.

L.A Girl's most definitely make the best nail polishes (i can't stress that enough). It took around 3/4 coats and a top coat to achieve maximum coverage but they dry pretty quick anyway. It looks better in wayy better in real life. I love nail polish!!!

Caroline & i ventured to the showgrounds this weekend to check out Supernova which is pretty much a homage to Comic Con in the US. I wasn't very much impressed, although that was probably due to the fact that the event was tiny and i was really looking forward to a giant blown up Pikachu (as below).

Regardless of how unimpressed i was, Caroline seemed extremely pleased with her chance to met Karl Urban and get a photo taken with him. So pleased that she cried and nearly passed out. She was so cute!

And as for Karl Urban, apart from being a New Zealander i found him quite charming and attractive.

My highlight of the day was pretty much the shopping part although it took a lot for me to fight temptation and not buy all the cute toys that will only end up populating my bed anyway. I ended with a present for Mickey and Pokemon cards.

Oh and this was adorable!!!!!

I was so tired after the whole expo especially considering i spent the night before climbing a mini mountain in my heels but i'll save that story for another time.

I remember seeing this the first time i visited the night market this Summer and after resisting to purchase it. I gave in. It just so happened that it was the last teapot and last night of the market when i did. I loved it so much that i didn't want to use it so after stashing it in my cupboard for what's been at least two months now, i've decided to take it out and enjoy a cup of tea.

I love the fact that the teapot is made up of a cup and pot! Totally adorable and er, space saving?

I cut my hair shorter. I'm not sure how much i like it yet but i don't hate it. It's been around 2/3 years since my last bob-like hairstyle.It's funny though, i was suppose to write about post about how much i sorta missed my long hair but so much for that. It's also getting a colour change soon so stay tuned!

I also got my Minnie Mouse ears from Ebay last week. It took forever because of the Easter holidays and i'm still waiting on a million other packages.

The weather's getting quite chilly down in Melbourne as Summer fades away and Autumn kicks in. Although i can't wait for Winter, i have to admit i'm not looking forward to waking up early in the morning for uni. Nah uhhh. Not cool.

HAPPY BELATED EASTER EVERYONE!!

Hope ya'll had a good one. As for me i ended up spending my Easter tearing up the dancefloor with amazing company, drinking copious amounts of alcohol, playing blackjack and setting balloons free (haha). Not only that, i met Jason Derulooo(will definitely post a photo up when i get one off T). Massive thanks for M, W & W for the great long weekend. Bestest.

I hate the photo but i only got two and this one is most definitely better then the other. He was so nice.

Dishonorable mention too my football team for completely killing my hopes and another one to the people that woke me up at 4 in the morning on the only night i had to catch up on sleep.

I have a new guilty pleasure, well i wouldn't say it's that much of a guilty pleasure but it is indeed pleasurable. I love Top Gear!

this is going to be a quick short post because my internet is extremely slow and everything is taking forever to load.

i officially want to marry my hairdresser :) his so amazing. haha! he remembered my name (insert dreamy stare out towards the window). i went to get layers through my hair today because it was getting a bit thick towards the ends. i never realised how fast my hair grew until he pointed it out, it's either because it's healthy now or it could be that the new "sunsilk shampoo that promises longer hair" actually works. although i'm loving my length right now.

I will always wonder why people operate the way they do but then i take a breathe and reflect on my own operations and realise that, i do the same. Sometimes we just need to left alone to do what we have to do.. whatever that may be.

I've just gotten back into study mode after slacking off for weeks on end now. It actually feels pretty good. I'm trying to get my head wrapped around studying and finishing my degree as well as working and saving up for Tokyo/Hong Kong Jan 2011. This means i have to STOP SHOPPING!! (I KNOW.. THE HORROR) But i can do this. All i need is a little, Self Control.

I hooked myself up with snippity snip snip today before work. About time too, the ends of my hair were so dead it wasn't even funny. I literally cut at least 26cm's off, give or take. It's sad(sorta) but i love my new hair. It's a long bob(sorta). Haha! I will defs post up a picture tomorrow when i'm looking less tired from work.

Hairdresser: Are you sure you want to cut your hair like that? How about i just cut of the dead ends and do something nice?
Lisa: Hmmm.. (examines hair) But that's still going to pretty much be the same? No cut it all off.

After the hairdressers, i headed to work where i brought myself a new white cape coat that was amazingly perfect for winter. Ever since the Saba trench, i've been infatuated with the colour white. I literally walked past Cue and reversed back into the store when i saw it. It's soo cute and fits like a charm.

So apart from working 9 hours and a few things annoying me here and there.. all in all, it was a good day. So glad Tamsyn was there to guide me through a few things. I love love love her.

One day can change a lifetime.. or in my case a holiday.

I'm currently channeling Blair Waldorf's zen like behavior. I'm going to rebuild myself. Starting with a new pair of shoes or maybe two and then i'll go get my hair done. I've spent the whole day out of it and two whole night's moping about something i don't understand or at least i choose not too anyway. After my crazy antics tonight, i think i'll have to just retire from it all. It's stupid that i feel like i can't be happy because your gone/going/confused/fucked up but in all honesty, i've never met someone as refreshing and capable of putting up with me shit the way you do. Here is where i'm suppose rant and rave about amazing Future Music was and whilst it was amazing, the events that occured afterwards weren't as much. I don't think i've ever hated drugs in my life as much as i did that day.

I should be angry at you, not vice versa. I should be the cold one considering i'm the one that spent my time looking for you.. just because i wanted to know you were safe. What do i get though? Nothing. This is where i go, i hate you, you ignorant dickhead. But i don't.

Those that know me well know that i hate feeling weak. The feeling of not being able to control the way i feel about something/someone, is something i'm afraid to endure. It's hard for me to comprehend being hopeless at anytime in my life considering the event's that have unfolded during the 20 years i've lived. Standing strong, holding on to those important and letting go to those that aren't is always a hard lesson to learn. So in saying that i want to assume that you mean nothing more to me, then an entity that can be easily cast away with the flick of my fingers, but your not.. and i don't want you to be. You care about me and do for me, more then most people in my life have ever done and cared. And even though i don't show it, i appreciate it.

I don't know whether or not my emotions are caused by shopping withdrawals (it's been nearly a week) or just PMS. I'm guessing it's the later. Haha!!

I was on the bus this morning staring out the window into my own little world when i noticed two girls sitting in front of me with their maths books out(one covered in metallic Spongebob prints just like J's maths book). It brought me back to the good old days when i was still in high school. Oh how i was dedicated student back then. I remember the precision and time J & I took as we went through each exercise. Each circle would be traced perfectly with out mathomat, each graph would be ruled out 5cmx5cm and our search for would always lead us to X's real identity. today was nice. spent some time with my on again, off again "bffl". haha. i have well and truly missed him. afterwards i left to do some shopping and ended up walking away with: a anchor cropped singlet with a zip @ the back from cotton on, a sequined white scarf and a sequined white blazer from forever new. might i add that i don't have a shopping addiction at all. (insert eye roll here)

on another note, i am so over summer in Australia. i miss the winter and layers and jumpers and coats and beanies...

i saw this photo on yvan rodic's blog and i can't get over how cute she looks.

this makes me wish it actually snowed in Melbourne during winter. i love to walk around in the snow with my faux fur coat and faux fur russian hat, drinking hot chocolate and snuggling in my blankets.

responsibilities suck

i'm starting class again tomorrow and i'm far from being any sort of ready(well i printed out my timetable so that's something i guess). i'm having too much fun to resort back to any scholastic rendezvous. i wish i could say i was inspired and invigorated but in all honesty, i'm not. i dread the assignments this last year will bring, i dread the fact that i'm going to have to be a nazi when it comes to group work and i'll probably develop some sort of ocd due to the absent mindedness of certain classmates.

and most of all, i DREAD waking up at 6.30am, catching the PT at 7.30am and getting to class at 8.30am. oh dear.

i fell in love with this almost as soon as i laid eyes on it.

the neutral tones with hints of metallic's.
the cute little bows.
the ruffles.
and especially the hair: the front bangs with the mickey mouse ears homage (at least that's what i call it)

by far my most favourite show this year.
